TeeJet Technologies (TeeJet) and Inflexion Point Technologies, LLC (IPT) have announced a strategic partnership to bring IPT’s patented Prescriptive On-Planter Seed Treater (POP-ST) to market through TeeJet’s global application technology platform.
The collaboration introduces a new approach to seed treatment by enabling in-field, real-time, data-driven micro-application directly at planting. By combining TeeJet’s expertise in precision application technology with IPT’s POP-STTM solution, farmers can make prescriptive seed treatment decisions at the seed level—directing investment to the areas of the field where it delivers the greatest economic return.
POP-STTM is the industry’s first prescriptive, on-planter seed treatment system designed for use on virtually any planter in the market. The modular, planter-mounted system can be installed on new or existing equipment and is controlled by prescriptive software that allows growers to apply seed treatments immediately prior to planting and adjust products and rates in real time. Applications can be varied based on field-specific factors that influence profitability, including soil type, hybrid or variety selection, yield history, disease or insect risk, and management practices.
By enabling precise, real-time application, POP-STTM allows farmers to invest more where the payoff is greatest while unlocking new opportunities for biological and specialty seed treatments that are often constrained by conventional seed treating or in-furrow application methods.
Leveraging TeeJet’s electronics and controller technology, the POP-STTM system is designed for compatibility across planter makes, models, and ages. This flexibility results in a field-ready solution that allows growers to adopt prescriptive seed treatment without changing their existing farming practices, equipment strategies, or supplier relationships.
Looking ahead, the partners expect the POP-STTM system, powered by TeeJet, to support a growing pipeline of seed-applied products. These include biologicals and biostimulants, targeted disease and insect management tools, regenerative and soil-health-focused treatments, and specialty products that require precise, on-seed delivery. Together, these capabilities are intended to help farmers improve profitability while reducing their overall chemical footprint.
